All are invited to our Annual Meeting

Join the Friends of Sears Island board of directors and advisory group—and your friends and neighbors—as we look back at the highlights of 2025 and learn about plans for the coming years. This is your chance to ask questions and get answers. It’s also an opportunity for you to think about becoming more involved. We have many important tasks for volunteers who can give a little time or a lot.

Passing the Torch: At this meeting, we will also bid a very grateful farewell to longtime board president Susan White. Susan has been on FOSI’s leadership team for 15 years, including 12 as president. She’s decided it’s time for her to pull back and really retire. Susan’s contributions over so many years can’t be easily listed, and her wise, intelligent, and patient leadership will be missed by all who’ve had the good fortune to work with her. There will be a chance for anyone to share memories!

We will gather next Saturday, January 10, at 12:30 pm at Mermaid Plaza, located at 1 East Main St. in Searsport—it’s the building with the bright blue roof! We’d love to see you there!

PS – We are expecting excellent weather, but it is winter and this is Maine. If it becomes necessary to postpone due to weather, we will plan to gather the following Saturday, January 17th, same time and place. We’ll send out an email and post on our Facebook page.
