Reading and Discussion of Scott Dickerson’s New Novel

November 5 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

This is a novel about youth, growth, sorrow, disappointment, commitment, love, and joy. Bonfires before Glaciers is also about now and is forever relevant—citizens confronting wrong to advance good.

Please join us on Thursday, November 5, at 6:30 pm, for a very special reading and discussion via Zoom with Scott Dickerson. Scott is well known here for his tenure as the first executive director of Coastal Mountains Land Trust, during which he stewarded the organization in protecting more than 12,000 acres. He also spent decades working with others to protect Sears Island from development.

Scott’s second novel, Bonfires Before Glaciers, tells a rich and truly engaging story of a young man who came to Maine in the ’70s searching for his calling and ultimately finding it in a movement here in Maine’s midcoast to protect Sears Island from development.

Scott will read from his new book, and we’ll have plenty of time for questions and discussion.

Scott has generously offered to donate $10 to Friends of Sears Island for every book sold by Searsport’s Anodyne Book Shop! To order your copy, just email elly@anodynebookshop.com or call (207) 548-4212.
