Science Squad: Autumn Fun for Kids

Friends of Sears Island will host “Falling Leaf Fun,” a program for kids at Belfast City Park on Friday, October 18th, from 2:30-4:00pm. The program will be led by Jenni Judkins, of the Belfast Bay Watershed Coalition. Jenni will guide children on a walk to observe and collect leaves, followed by a game called “Steal the Leaf” to learn how to identify common Maine tree species. Children will have the opportunity to journal and create nature mandalas with colorful autumn leaves, and Jenni will share some fall-themed stories and Native American lore as well.

This program is for kids ages 6-12 with an accompanying adult. Jenni Judkins is the Natural Literacy Educator for the Belfast Bay Watershed Coalition. She has extensive experience teaching in classrooms and outdoors, a degree in biology, and a lifelong love of nature and its wonders.
